Position Summary

The Project Manager’s primary role is to manage various types of engineering design projects and serve as the design team lead when interfacing with customers. The Project Manager will work side by side the design team with a constant eye toward managing scope and budget.

Project Identification and Initiation

    • Establish project teams and complete project initiation documents: Scope of Work, PSBS, Budget, and Storyboard for project.
    • Coordinate with Finance & Accounting ahead of project kick-off to insure contract is set-up correctly in Deltek for billing and compliance purposes.
    • Conducts project Kick-Off meeting with team members to ensure distribution of project information including Scope of Work, Deliverables, Schedule, Budget Hours, etc.
    • Responsible for appropriately mapping out project scope and appropriate staff resources to complete project
    • Executes contractual agreements with clients in accordance with EKFox guidelines
    • Overall responsibility for resource planning, cost estimating, cost budgeting and cost control of projects
    • Responsible for coordinating communication and managing expectations internally and externally

Project Execution

    • Primary responsibility for all technical, schedule, and cost/budget responsibility for projects assigned
    • Manages and controls potential project scope changes.
    • Leads and manages project team through the entire project completion
    • Ensures all members of project team are appropriately utilized throughout project
    • Maintains value-added communication with client with respect to status and milestones
    • Keeps project status reporting system current with actions and changes that take place on assigned projects
    • Takes ownership of project quality and coordinating quality control (QC) efforts in accordance with EKFox guidelines
    • Through appropriate project pricing, budgeting, resource utilization and cost controls, maximize the profit margin of each project.
    • Conduct post-mortem review on all projects to determine client satisfaction, financial performance, staffing utilization, skill gaps, lessons learned.
  • Account Management
    • In interfacing with potential or existing clients, listen for and seek out new projects that may exist or are being formulated.
    • Meet regularly with clients to discuss current projects, evaluate firm performance, and identify other business opportunities either with current clients or through referrals.
    • Identify opportunities to grow client relationships based on EKFox portfolio of services
  • Business/Fiscal Management
    • Judicious monitoring of invoicing requirements and prompt follow-up with Finance & Accounting and clients.
    • Responsible for updating the project status report (PSR) to ensure smooth coordination between project completion, invoicing, and collection.
    • Overall responsibility for Accounts Receivable objectives in accordance with EKFox guidelines.
    • Ensures appropriate job cost reporting in conjunction with auditing project team timesheets
    • Ensures that all Project files are accurate, complete, and archived properly (Correspondence, Shop Drawings, Drawings, Submissions)
  • Leadership and Delegation
    • Understand the strengths and areas of needed improvement of project team members.
    • Manage, support, and evaluate each individual towards achieving maximum potential.
    • Appropriately assigns duties to project staff with respect to skill level and project requirements
    • Communicate changes to Project Team in a timely manner, following-up as appropriate to ensure continuity.

Requisite Skills

  • · A 4 Year College Degree (Engineering, Construction, or Facilities related) or 10+ years of experience in managing facility related projects.
  • · Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects and to meet established deliverables
  • · The ability to work in a fast-pace, collaborative environment.
  • · Familiar with cost and financial accounting standards, methodologies and metrics.
  • · Ability to accurately and efficiently map staffing requirements to Statement of Work
  • · Ability to coordinate own and other’s actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources.
  • · Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • · Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • · A strong desire to learn.

Preferred Experience

  • Top Secret Clearance or eligible for one.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Cross Discipline Training – knowledgeable multiple technical areas.
  • Working knowledge of the FAR and Government contracting.
  • Proposal and budget/cost development particularly in government contracting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000 - $160,000 per year
